The Southwest Idaho Fire Training program is an interagency effort emphasizing wildland fire training. Our mission is to provide quality training at the local level, utilizing National Wildfire Coordinating Group (NWCG) courses.

This web page contains information on courses available in the Boise area. Supplemental and area specific skills development and annual Critical Firefighter Refresher sessions will continue through direct coordination with our adjoining resources.

A Wildfire Academy is held each spring through a partnership with the College of Western Idaho(CWI). The Academy is defined as the courses held during the week of May 18th, which are held on the CWI Canyon County campus. Tuition is listed separately.

To register for a course in this catalog refer to the Nomination Process link.

An Associate of Applied Science degree in Wildland Fire Management may be obtained through CWI upon completion of requirements found under the Fire Service Degree Program link.
