The fire is burning in an approved Wildland Fire Use area and fire officials will be monitoring this fire although the fire will not be an official Wildland Fire Use fire. The fire is small with little potential of getting any bigger. Firefighters will be monitoring this fire.
9/17 Malad Brush Canyon 225 under investigation Fire is located 9 miles south of Malad. 3 engines, one dozer and 2 20-person handcrews are working the fire. Estimated containment today at noon.

Fire was located 14 miles northeast of Soda Springs. Fire contained at 9 p.m. on 9/16 and controlled at 7:45 p.m. on 9/17.

9/15 Kelly Canyon Antelope Rx 225  prescribed Prescribed burn is located near Kelly Canyon. Saturday, firefighters were able to burn 225 acres.
9/14 Malad Onedia County Assist 5 to 20 human Six fires were located along I-15 north of Malad. EIIFC is assisting Oneida County with these fires. Fires range from 20 to 5 acres in size. Structures were threatened. Fires are contained and controlled.
9/14 Kilgore West 22 Field Rx 1,943.5 prescribed Prescribed burn is located 8 miles northeast of Kilgore.
9/13 Sand Dunes Dry Lakes Rx 1,000 prescribed

Fire is located 3 miles east of Arimo. 1 dozer, 5 engines, and 1 water tender will be checking for hot spots today. At 4 p.m., Smith Canyon residence were put on alert for possible evacuations.

Fire was contained at 7 p.m. on 9/12 and controlled on 9/13.

9/7 Arimo Smith 7 human Fire is located 4 miles southeast of Arimo. Fire is contained and controlled.
9/2 Montpelier Sweetwater 3,044 lightning Fire is located 16 miles southeast of Montpelier, close to the north end of Bear Lake. Numerous resources, including several aircraft, have been fighting this fire under multiple safety concerns, close proximity to a large power line. This fire is contained as of 8 p.m. on 9/4. Controlled at 6 p.m. on 9/5.

8/26 Fort Hall Little Toponce .5 lightning Fire is located on the Fort Hall Indian Reservation, 5 miles east and south of Mount Putnam. Fire was contained at 8 p.m. on 8/26. Crews continue to work towards control today.

8/19 Malad John Evans 60 lightning Fire is located 10 miles northwest of Malad. Firefighters contained the fire at 1 p.m. on August 20th and controlled at 6 p.m. on 8/21.
8/17 INL Moonshiner 2,672 lightning Fire is located 6 miles northeast of Atomic City near INL lands. Structures and cattle were threatened. 100% contained by 6:00 p.m. on 8/19 and controlled at 2 p.m. on 8/20.
8/19 Downey Beaver Dam .25 lightning One engine contained this fire at 4:00 p.m. on 8/19 and had it controlled 40 minutes later.
8/17 Downey Sand Creek 62.7 lightning EIIFC resources assisted Downey, Arimo, Lava and McCammon is putting this fire out.
8/15 Holbrook Wood 3,000 lightning  10 miles northeast of Holbrook, this fire has 2 engines and 2 dozers fighting this fire. Containment was reached at 2 p.m. on 8/17. Controlled at 4:30 p.m. on 8/19.
8/16 Victor Oliver & Oliver #2 1 lightning 5 miles southeast of Victor, Idaho, on west side of Highway 22 (Teton Pass), one engine, one hotshot hand crew and retardant is being used to suppress these two spots. These fires were contained and controlled by 1:00 p.m. on 8/18.
8/17 Ashton  Warm River .1 lightning Fire is 10 miles northeast of Ashton, in the Warm River area. 1 engine is estimating containment at 8:00 p.m. on 8/17 and control at 9:00 p.m. on 8/17.
8/17 Palisades Palisades .1 lightning 4 miles north of Palisades town. Firefighters are working their way to the single snag. Fire was contained and controlled at 5:50 p.m. on 8/17.
8/17 Dubois Rail .1 lightning 3 miles south of the Idaho/Montana boarder and north of Dubois. 1 engine contained the fire at 4 p.m. and controlled the fire at 4:30 p.m. on 8/17.
8/16 Pocatello Trail Creek 10 lightning 6 miles west of Pocatello, this fire started too late in the evening to fly retardant on threatened structures. Chubbuck and Pocatello Fire Departments along with EIIFC have contained this fire at 9 a.m. and controlled the fire at 4:13 p.m. on 8/17.
8/16 Pocatello City Creek 14.7 lightning In City Creek of Pocatello, had two retardant drops and five engines contained this fire at 7:15 p.m. on 8/16 and controlled the fire at 4:20 p.m. on 8/17.
8/16 Idaho Falls Blackfoot River 30 lightning 22 miles south of Idaho Falls, suppressed by four engines, one dozer and a hand crew. Fire contained at 9:00 p.m. on 8/16.
8/15 Downey Cottonwood Peak .1 lightning 10 miles east of Downey, two smokejumpers contained this fire at 11:00 p.m. on 8/15.
8/16 Arco Deadman .1 lightning 7 miles east of Arco, one engine contained and controlled this fire on 8/16.
8/7 Victor Taylor WFU 3 lightning Fire is located on the southwest side of Taylor Mountain 4.2 miles west/northwest of Teton Pass, 7 miles southeast of Victor. 8/9 Heise Little Burns 15 lightning Fire is located on the northeast of the Big Holes Mountains.
8/14 Palisades South Elk .1 lightning 4 helitack personnel are suppressing this fire approximately 10 miles east of Palisades Reservoir. Contained at 4:00 p.m. 8/15 and control is estimated for 4:00 p.m. on 8/16.
8/14 American Falls Cedar 113 lightning 10 miles southwest of American Falls, this fire is being suppressed by four engines and a helicopter. Retardant was also flown on this fire. This fire was contained at 6:00 p.m. on 8/15.
8/15 Holbrook Elison 80 possible lightning 12 miles south of Holbrook, 2 miles into Utah, 3 engines have responded. EIIFC turned this fire over to Northern Utah.

8/14 Pocatello Munn Springs .1 lightning 10 miles southeast of Pocatello, single tree. Two smokejumpers contained and controlled the fire by 6 p.m. 8/14.
8/13 Rexburg Pony 17 sparks from a welder Started approximately 20 miles east of Rexburg. Three engines contained and controlled the fire at 8:15 p.m. on 8/13.
8/12 Island Park Campground 1 human Fire is located at the Big Springs Campground. Contained at 6 p.m. and controlled at 7:30 p.m. on 8/12.

7/23 Pocatello Michad Creek 1,000 lightning Fire is located south of the Pocatello Airport. EIIFC has 7 engines and 1 dozer assisting the tribe. This is a Fort Hall Jurisdiction fire. Please contact them for more information.
7/23 Hollbrok Pipeline 500 human caused  Fire is located 16 miles southwest of Hollbrok. 2 engines are working this fire. Fire contained on 7/23 at 6:30 p.m.
7/22 Henrys Fork Henrys Fork .1 human caused Fire is located 8 miles southeast of Henry's Lake. Fire was contained at 6:37 p.m. and controlled at 7 p.m. on 7/22.
7/22 Palisades Reservoir  Campfire .1  campfire Fire is near Palisades Reservoir. One engine is responding.
7/21 Kelly Island Byington 1 undetermined

Fire started at Byington Boat Ramp near Kelly Island. County engines quickly extinguished the 1acre flame. Fire investigators are calling this fire human-caused and continue working through the investigation process for more specifics. Contained and controlled 7/21.

7/21 Malad Samaria 145.6 equipment Fire is located 5 miles southwest of Malad. 3 county engines are on scene,along with 1 heavy and 5 light EIIFC engines. 2 dozers are putting in line and 2 fire investigators are looking for further information on this human cause. Contained at 7:30 p.m. 7/21.
7/19 Fort Hall Diversion Dam 5 campfire Fire is located 3 miles east of Blackfoot. Fort Hall engines took care of the fire late last night. Fire is contained and controlled.
7/19 Rockland  Sunset 100 arson Fire is located 5 miles southeast of American Falls. 8 engines and the county are fighting this fire along with 3 air tankers. 8-10 structures were threatened. Fire was contained at 9 p.m. on 7/19. Click here for photos.

Fire is located near Aberdeen. 1 engine and Aberdeen fire department are on scene. Fire was contained and controlled on 7/19.

7/18 Atomic City Twin Butte 9436 lightning

Fire is located at East Butte just north of Atomic City. 1 engine and 1 20-person handcrew, county and INL are mopping up this fire.

Fire was contained at 9 p.m. on 7/19 and controlled at 6 p.m. on 7/21. Highway 20 is open to all travelers.

Fire is located 12 miles northeast of Preston. 4 engines, one bull dozer, one water tender, 10-person handcrews and one helicopter are fighting this fire. Summer homes were threatened and are 1/4 of a mile from the fire. Containment was reached at 8:30 p.m. on 7/10 and fire controlled on 7/11 at 7:30 p.m.

7/5 Blackfoot 1400 274 human Fire is located along Hwy 26 northwest of Blackfoot. No structures are threatened. Several engines, 2 air tankers, 2 bull dozers, Blackfoot and Fort Hall Fire Departments are on scene. Containment was reached at 11 p.m. on 7/5 and controlled at 6 p.m. on 7/6.
7/5 Kilgore Buttermilk .5 human Fire is located in a subdivision near Island Park. Structures are threatened, but the county, Island Park Fire Department and EIIFC one engine is getting a handle on the fire, which they contained at 3:15 p.m. and controlled at 4 p.m. on 7/5.
7/5 Island Park Boot .1 human Fire is located near Henrys Lake. Fire was contained and controlled at 12:47 p.m.
7/4 St. Anthony Sand Dunes 900 fireworks Fire is located 10 miles northwest of St. Anthony. 27 firefighters, 2 dozers, 1 water tender and air attack are fighting this fire. 3 air tankers dropped retardant on the fire on 7/4. Fire was contained on 7/4 at 11 p.m. and controlled on 7/5 at 6 p.m.

7/4 Arco Number .25 fireworks Fire is located in Arco. 1 engine contained the fire on 7/4 at 11:30 p.m.
7/4 Lava Hot Springs Dempsey .1 fireworks Fire is located south of Lava Hot Springs. Fire was contained at 11:30 on 7/4.
7/4 Lava Hot Springs Lava #1 .1 fireworks Fire is located in Lava Hot Springs. Fire was contained at 11 p.m. and controlled at 12 p.m. on 7/4.

7/2 Arco Arco 16 fireworks Fire was located within the town of Arco. Contained at 7 p.m. and controlled at 9 p.m.
7/2 Pocatello Bannock County Assist 5 human Fire is located near ISU in Pocatello. EIIFC assisted Bannock County on this fire. EIIFC sent 4 engines and a helicopter for support if needed, but was not used.
7/2 Montpelier Emigration .1 equipment Fire is located 10 miles northwest of Montpelier. One engine contained the fire at 10:45 a.m.
7/2 Montpelier Swan Flat .1 human Fire is located 14 miles southwest of Paris. One engine contained the fire at 12:13 p.m. and controlled the fire at 12:20 p.m. This fire was piles that the Forest Service had created for future burning, but someone (not Forest Service) started the piles on fire.
6/30 Dubois Robin .1 vehicle Fire is located 9 miles west of Dubois. Contained and controlled on 6/30 at 6:33 p.m.
6/29 Grays Lake NWR Flat .1 human Fire is located 5 miles northwest of Grays Lake National Wildlife Refuge. Contained at 8 p.m. on 6/29 and controlled on 6/30 at 11:30 a.m. This fire was started early this spring and was never fully extinguished and finally escaped the debris piles.
6/25 Paris  Bloomington 218 equipment  Fire is located approximately 10 miles southwest of Montpelier. 6 engines and 2 helicopters are fighting this fire burning in Marsh Creek Fire sagebrush and grass. Summer homes and water supply were threatened. The fire is controlled 6/26 at 6 p.m.
6/25 McCammon Marsh Creek II 75 spark from Marsh Creek Fire Fire is burning adjacent to the Marsh Creek Fire from Sunday.The fire is contained.
6/25 Swan Valley     prescribed fire Firefighters will be burning piles of slash in the Sheep Creek and Palisades Reservoir areas today.
6/24 McCammon Marsh Creek 103  debris barrel Fire is located near McCammon. Fire was contained on 6/24 at 9:30 p.m.
6/20 Fort Hall Bottoms #1 1 fireworks Fire is located 6 miles west of Fort Hall. Contained at 3:45 p.m. and controlled at 6:30 p.m. on 6/20.
6/20 Malad Cow Canyon  16,200 vehicle driving on tall dry grass Fire is located west of Holbrook, ID near the Utah boarder. 165 firefighters are working to contain this fire. The fire is 100% contained on 6/24 at 4:00 p.m. Click here for fire photos.
6/18 Soda Springs Tenmile 100 powerline Fire is located 12 miles northwest of Soda Springs. 5 engines responded to the fire. Contained at 2 a.m. on 6/19 and controlled at 7:45 p.m. on 6/19. Fire is under investigation.
6/18 McCammon  Bannock County Assist 50 human This fire is located just outside McCammom on private property. EIIFC is assisting Bannock County with the fire. 7 engines responded to the fire. Cause is unknown.
6/17 Pocatello Howard 1600 undetermined Fire is located on the west side of Pocatello in Arbon Valley burning on Howard Peak in the Trail Creek area. Fire was contained on 6/19 at 5 p.m. and estimated controlled on 8/22 at 6 p.m. This fire in under investigation.
6/16 Fort Hall Sands 20 fireworks Fire is located 5 miles northeast of Fort Hall town. Contained at 4 p.m. and controlled at 5:41 on 6/16.
6/9 Arco Powerline 1 powerline Fire was located near Arco. Contained at 2:32 p.m. and controlled at 6:20 p.m. on 6/9.
6/5 Massacre Rocks Massacre 3 vehicle Fire is located near the Rest Area by Massacre Rocks. Contained at 5 p.m. on 6/5 and controlled at 8 p.m. 6/5.
6/5 Pocatello Wild Mountain .25 lightning Fire is located on the foothills at Pocatello. Contained and controlled at 11:15 a.m. on 6/5.
6/4 Dubois Camas  7 equipment Fire is located 5 miles north of Hamer, Idaho. 4 engines responded to the fire which was contained on 6/4 at 5 p.m. and controlled at 6/5 at 11 a.m.
3/14 Fort Hall  Cedar Butte 1.5 campfire The fire started late in the afternoon, burning in pinion juniper. Fire was contained at 6:45 p.m. and controlled at 8 p.m. on 3/14.
