Local Recreation

Recreational opportunities in Eastern Idaho are excellent for every person. For additional recreation opportunities visit www.idahoparks.org. Below are a few highlights:

Hiking: Yellowstone National Park, Grand Teton National Park, Craters of the Moon National Monument, Frank Church River of No Return, Salmon Mountains and Wind River Mountains are all within a half days drive.

Climbing Areas: City of Rocks, Castle Rocks and Massacre Rock State Parks are within two hours drive, and about 20 other smaller crags within the same distance.

Skiing: Grand Targhee, Kelly Canyon, Pebble Creek, Jackson Hole, Teton Pass backcountry, Bogus Basin, Brundage, Schweitzer, Silver, Sun Valley, Tamarack, Big Mountain, Big Sky, Moonlight Basin, Park City, Deer Valley, Alta, Brighton, Snowbird, Snowbasin and Bridger Bowl are all within a days drive.

Hunting and Fishing: Henry's Lake; Island Park, Palisades and American Falls Reservoirs; Henry's Fork and South Fork of the Snake River and Yellowstone River each make fishing in the area excellent. Hunting in Idaho is abundant for any type of hunter.
