Don't Blow It...

Fireworks are illegal on State and Federal land. Check with your local fire department about any restrictions in your area and follow these tips:

Use legal fireworks from licensed outlets.

Use fireworks outdoors, in a safe area away from fields, forested lands and buildings.

Use fireworks in parking lots, driveways and gravel or dirt areas.

Follow directions carefully, with close adult supervision.

An adult should always light fireworks - keep matches and lighters away from children.

Let fireworks cool and soak them in a bucket of water before disposing of the debris.

Never point or throw fireworks at people or animals.

Use extra caution in dry weather, and never use fireworks when it is windy.

If you start a fire on public lands because of your fireworks, you could be held liable for the cost of putting the fire out!

BLM Fireworks Order for 2008

Forest Service year-round has an order to ban fireworks and the possession of fireworks on Forest lands.

Remember, it only takes one to prevent a wildfire!
