Quick Definitions:
WFU= Wildland Fire Use events, ongoing fires we manage for resource benefit.
Contained= A fuel break around the fire has been completed. This break may include natural barriers or manually and/or mechanically constructed line.
Controlled= The complete extinguishments of fire, including spot fires. Fire line has been strengthened so that flare-ups from within the perimeter of the fire will not break through this line.
Prescribed Fire =Prescribed fire (Rx) is a controlled burn that the agencies light to improve the ecosystem in the area.

RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 PM MDT TUESDAY FOR THUNDERSTORMS AND LIGHTNING... Scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected across eastern Idaho Tuesday night. Heavy rainfall and gusty downburst winds in excess of 50 mph, along with hail, are possible with the stronger storms. Wind gusts outside of thunderstorm areas are possible, expecially in the Snake Plain.

7/20 Fort Hall Sands 151 lightning

Burned in brush and grass on Fort Hall land, which is protected by Idaho Falls District BLM. Fire contained 7/20 at 12:30 p.m. and controlled by 6:30 p.m.

7/20 Pocatello Bonneville Peak 0.1 lightning

14 miles southeast of Pocatello.  A single tree burned.  An EIIFC helicopter with two rappellers initialed-attacked this incident.  Contained 7/20 at 9:30 p.m. and controlled 7/21 at 8:00 a.m.

7/19 Pocatello

Edison (Bannock #2)

5 cigarette EIIFC resources assisted Bannock County in containing this fire on 7/19 by 6:00 p.m.
7/15 Firth Snake 22.2 campfire EIIFC engines and fire overhead personnel are working to suppress this fire that burns on an island of the Snake River, approximately 4 miles southwest of Firth. Two EIIFC investigators discovered that somebody left a campfire burning. The fire was contained on 7/17 at 12:00 pm.
7/14 Island Park Fire Use Event
Willow
10 lightning Discovered 7/14, fire officials are managing this fire as a Fire Use Event. It was discovered in Willow Creek Drainage of Fremont County.  It is 2 miles south of the Continental Divide and 12.5 miles northwest of Henry's Lake, burning in dead and down material where the grasses are still fairly wet. There has been torching and spotting in insect infested trees.
